The Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) has recognized HealthCare Partners as a top-performing California medical group for the past five years, based on our performance in clinical quality, patient care experience, and use of information technology in patient care. The IHA is a not-for-profit, statewide healthcare collaborative that seeks to improve the quality of healthcare provided by California physicians through special projects, policies, and education.
HealthCare Partners is one of only four California physician groups in the entire Los Angeles area to receive such distinction. The other California physician groups named by IHA as top performers are Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, UCLA Medical Group, and seven Southern California Permanente Medical Groups associated with Kaiser Permanente.
To determine top scorers, IHA compared 230 California physician groups that represent 35,000 physicians statewide, who care for more than 11 million patients. HealthCare Partners scored in the top 20 percent of California physician groups on performance measures that include clinical quality measures (cancer screenings, immunizations, diabetes care, etc.), patient satisfaction measures (timely access to care, doctor-patient communication, etc.), and use of health information technology systems that support clinical decision-making and promote evidence-based care.
HealthCare Partners Medical Group received overall scores of 99 and 97 on PacifiCare's Fall 2005 Quality Index Profile, putting us in the top 10 percent of the physician groups measured statewide. The Quality Index rates PacifiCare- and Secure Horizons-contracted physician groups and IPAs on more than 40 measures related to clinical and service quality, affordability, and administrative accuracy.
